My photo journal of recent and frequent pictures around my home in Nagoya.
Today we went to Inuyama Castle which is about 45 min by car from Nagoya. It was built in 1537 by Oda Yojirou Nobuyasu. It is the oldest standing castle in Japan. In 1891 parts of the castle was destroyed by the Great Nobi Earthquake. The castle is high up on a mountain and overlooks a great river.
I went to the Nagoya Port today with my daughter's school. After it was over I hung around and took photos. They have a ship that went to the South Pole back in 1963. You can have a walk on it and see the history behind it. This picture is of one of the vehicles they used there.
I love this temple in Motoyama 本山. If you ever come to Nagoya and are into photography it's a must see. Beware in summer here because huge mosquitoes are everywhere that I call zebras because of the way they look leave a huge tennis ball welts. They are smart, fast and sneaky.
This budda has transformed recently into a green painted statue. I liked it before when it looked old.
